University housing in Taranto: HOMA participates in the RUSH event!

Today we participated in the event “RUSH — University Residency for Students in Housing”, scheduled in Taranto, at the Civic Library 'Pietro Acclavio.

The event, organized as part of the PRIN 2022 RUSH — Responsive University Student Housing research project, promoted by the Politecnico di Bari, the University of Florence and the Politecnico di Milano, aims to develop an innovative and replicable model of university residences, starting from the Taranto case study. This project is part of a broader ministerial objective of supporting research activities in the South.

A precious opportunity to discuss a strategic issue for the future of university cities: the right to study and access to adequate and accessible housing for off-site students and young workers.

➡️ The morning focused on the presentation of the PRIN 2022 RUSH research and on the prospects of university policies within the framework of the current urban planning policies;

➡️ In the afternoon, co-design workshops were organized, with participants divided into three thematic tables that analyze university housing compared to urban, neighborhood and building scales.

Thanks to the participation of our Project Manager, Andrea Rizzo, we have brought HOMA's experience in managing real estate for student housing, with a model that combines hospitality, services, sustainability and inclusion.
