HOMA in Brussels: designing the future of European housing.

We are thrilled to share the experience and results of our trip to Brussels, on the occasion of the event dedicated to “Competitiveness, Democracy & European Affordable Housing Plan. Cooperatives in action”, promoted by Legacoop Inhabitants.

After the visit to the House of European History, the first day ended with a meeting of the Italian delegation: a moment of strategic networking with national and international institutional representatives and operators in the sector.

On the second day, the honorable Irene Tinagli chaired the event and which saw the confrontation between the cooperative world, represented by Legacoop Inhabitants, and other leading representatives of European institutions.

What are the key points that emerged in the various panels?

Political priority: the issue of housing must climb the European and national political agenda, ensuring a clear and direct distribution of funds.

Specific funds: the urgency has emerged to allocate certain resources not only to classic social housing, but to all the nuances of living: from student housing to the needs of transfer workers and young professionals.

This mission confirms our commitment as a highly active Cooperative on the subject of social and student housing: to transform European funds into concrete and accessible housing solutions for everyone. Together, we bring the voice of Italian housing innovation to the heart of Europe.
